Review of Shine a Light (2008) by Matt S — 02 Jan 2009

Let's not dispute that the Stones are GODS. I am only judging this movie as a Martin Scorsese movie. And as far as I am concerned. I am not quite impressed by this one, given that I've seen the amazing Last Waltz with the Band.

First of all, the set list of this concert is rather weak. I didn't get to hear many Stones classics. The guest appearances also fall short in terms of cast. Buddy Guy and Jack White are cool, but Christina Aguilera seemed a bit out of place(although she did a good job too), but I just kept on expecting more and cooler guests until I realized that the film ended.

This is an average Scorsese work.
