Review of Shifty (2008) by Brett B — 19 Apr 2009
Gritty film about drug dealing that follows one guy that is riding the high life with it and finally has to face the consequences of his actions. The deterioration of society is brutal and stark. The knowledge that this is probably an accurate depiction of life for some people is uncomfortable.
The acting and script feels very naturalistic and the film was just the right length. It doesn't become preachy, it is just what it is. Recommended.
