Review of She's the One (1996) by Alison O — 26 May 2004
This is Edward Burns' follow-up to the successful [i]The Brothers McMullen. [/i]The stellar cast includes some of the folks from [i]McMullen [/i]and adds Jennifer Aniston ([i]Friends[/i]), John Mahoney ([i]Frasier[/i]), Cameron Diaz ([i]Charlie's Angels[/i]) and Maxine Bahns (who looks amazingly like Christy Turlington).
Many of the same plot twists haunt this Irish family - how brothers relate to each other and what a family will do for its women - but don't let that scare you. This is a good, witty romantic comedy for people that are too grown-up for [i]Just Married [/i]but not old enough for [i]Sleepless in Seattle[/i].
Don't expect to have any "I laughed, I cried, it became a part of me" moments after it's over, but you will enjoy it. Tom Petty did the soundtrack - which will be a plus or minus, depending on your point of view.
