In "She's Out of My League," Kirk(Jay Baruchel) is a TSA screener who still lives at home with his parents(Debra Jo Rapp & Adam LeFevre) in the same house as his ex-girlfriend Marnie(Lindsay Sloane) and her current boyfriend Ron(Hayes MacArthur). One day at work, Molly(Alice Eve), a lawyer turned party planner, accidentally leaves her cell phone behind at the security checkpoint. Kirk does the right thing by giving it back to her at a party later. As a reward, he is given great tickets to a Penguins game before being reassured by Molly's friend Patty(Krysten Ritter) that Molly is really interested in him.

"She's Out of My League" proves the old adage that any movie that contains a scene of the New York Islanders losing cannot be all bad.(Sorry. Rangers fan.) While the movie is achingly predictable due to the constraints of the genre, it captures the occasional hell of family while also being quite sweet with a minimum of ickiness and gross out gags. That goes a long way towards the movie's central message of women wanting a man whose shoulder they can cry on which contradicts Dr. Rush's First Law of Thermodynamics and Relationships. Surprisingly, none of the men in this movie act as if they have ever seen a beautiful woman before which might explain their self-esteem issues. Just remember that nobody's perfect, even Justin Verlander, but Pittsburgh is photgraphed well and Krysten Ritter steals every scene she is in.
