Review of She's Out of My League (2010) by Tyrone H — 12 Oct 2010
Suprisingly good. I only added this to my DVD list when I saw that Jay Baruchel was in this as I liked his performance in Tropic Thunder, as generally underwhelming film. The fact that it had the georgeous Alice Eve form a 'Starter for 10' didn't hurt either.
I found his mates somewhat annoying but Krysten Ritter is strong, and the family revel in their awfulness and generally have a great time being horrible to a fault.
While it is somewhat predictable the two central performances rescue this from mawkishness and the central idea about relationships becuse of our own insecurity and putting our partners on a pedestal, is somethink that will probably resonate with most people.
