Review of Sherrybaby (2006) by Kim M — 24 Aug 2007

This is one of those movies that was too short and had so much potential to be better but fell short. This movie had one very big thing going for it--Maggie Gyllenhalal--all the other supporting characters were bland and didn't really add all that much to the film.

Throughout the film, when it seemed like Sherry was about to redeem herself, she always managed to mess things up. I felt like her parole officer who said something along the lines that she wants a lot of things but she's not willing to put in the leg work to achieve it.

Needless to say, I'm walking away from this film with mixed feelings.
