Review of Sherrybaby (2006) by Andrew S — 04 Feb 2008
Gyllenhaal gives a brave and brilliant performance in this very human and moving drama about a recovering addict who trying to reconnect with her daughter after spending years in jail. I liked how the director threw the subtle hints in there that Sherry father might have abused her sexual which possibly lead to her downward spiral in the world of addiction.
You can't help but root for Sherry she really tries her hardest and when she does fall off the band wagon for that one moment in time your there screaming at her to stop.
