Tough subject matters make this heavy going but Maggie carries the film with ease. It's unlikely that anyone else would have made this watchable....
Sherry is a destructive character who is not particularly likeable, but Maggie does a great job in drawing you in and getting you involved in her life. The subtle ways that you discover some of the reasons why she is this way are nicely handled and are not forced upon you. This makes a change and I liked that approach.
Overall, Maggie makes this worth a watch.
