No wonder Gyllenhaal has been nominated for her work here as she is simply amazing. Working with a simple screenplay with creative dynamics, the story draws you in and allows you to empathise with an ex(?) druggie who only wants to be with her daughter she left for prison.
Intelligent screenplay that does not judge the main character but only shows her as she is. Definite recommend.
