Take away the explicit sex scenes, gritty drug content and copious profanity and this is little more than a glorified Lifetime melodrama. Maggie Gyllenhaal admittedly gives a great performance, but this movie is incredibly cliched and not as deep as writer-director Collyer thinks it is.
