Review of Sherlock Jr. (1924) by Russ M — 13 Aug 2007
If "The General" is considered Keaton's masterpiece, this is a closer runner-up and my personal favourite. The "stone-faced" Keaton pulls off some of the most impressive stunts ever filmed, including one in which Keaton actually disappears by diving through a suitcase that somebody holds against his chest.
Like Chaplin, Keaton's comic timing is brilliant and he, by this time, was directing himself. In my opinion, this is the greatest silent feature ever made.
