Review of Sherlock Jr. (1924) by Sarfaraz A — 01 Mar 2012
Sherlock Jr. Directed and Starred by Buster Keaton.
Buster Keaton performs few of daring stunts in this silent-comedy film from early 20's. It is worth noticing that a tiny plot can be so entertaining and dramatic, under direction of crafty worker like Buster Keaton. Playing a movie-projectionist, who is an aspiring person to become a detective, reading books about Sherlock. It is a movie which inspired Woody Allen to make a wonderful film The Purple Rose of Cairo (Starring Mia Farrow and Jeff Daniels). There were grand shots and beautiful game of pool played by Buster Keaton in the movie, he simply played superb shots there with precision and timing (I'm avid fan of the game).
