Review of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011) by Richard S — 24 Feb 2014
I wasn't too impressed with the first movie but I wanted to give the sequel a chance because I think Jared Harris plays such a good bad guy and he plays the ultimate bad guy in this one, Moriarty. I did enjoy it more than the first movie, the action sequences are very impressive, particularly the chase through the woods but overall it just all seems a bit silly and does not fit into the idea I have of Sherlock now.
This is probably down to my own bias as I think the BBC have done such a great job with their version of Sherlock that anything else just pales in comparison. The movies maybe more action packed and have the great visuals but it lacks the clever wit and writing of the BBC series.
