Review of Sherlock Holmes (2011) by Robbie N — 16 Aug 2015
Plays more like a magic trick than the sleuthing out of a mystery; this movie employs so much diversion that you can't help but be entertained, even knowing that everything at its heart is a total sham.
For my (non)money, the slow-mo-ramping fight scenes aren't utilized often enough, as I felt that was the only piece that felt like a fresh extension of the Sherlock lore. But ultimately, this feels like amusing, made for the cable circuit, hungover morning watching.
