Review of Sherlock Holmes (2009) by Harry W — 30 Jul 2012
Led in a charming performance by the handsome and talented Robert Downey Jr. and full of clever story twists and a smart storyline to direct the tale correctly, this modern day adaptation of the famous inspector is so well made with its acting and it's setting that it seems believable that the events actually happened and that Sherlock Holmes is a biopic of a madman who was in actuality a genius, and it's especially Robert Downey Jr.
who we have to thank for that. It's definitely one of his finest performances, and it's surrounded by excellent film editing, cinematography, setting and costume to ensure that Sherlock Holmes not only captures the heart of the character, but the story itself.
