Review of Sherlock Holmes (2009) by Sean H — 05 Dec 2012
A great adaptation of the original Holmes stories. Robert Downey Jr brings a rogue-like charm and wit to our favorite detective while Jude Law is studious and strict as Watson, able to handle the hijinks of his detective partner and deal with his own livelihood. London of the Holmes era is recreated well and is very detailed. I really enjoyed RDJ the most as he seemed to take the movie and run with it.
The only things I didn't quite like about the film was the use of slow-mo in the action scenes. While it served to illustrate Holme's intellect, it was distracting at times.
