Its modern appeal of style, wit, and grab at the popularity of Robert Downey Jr. all play very well into an entertaining piece of mystery mixed with clever action. It strives for intelligence and does achieve it on a certain level but it isn't what the legend could be in cinema.
Perhaps it is best we trust the film to the arts instead of the entertaining.
