Review of Sherlock Holmes (2009) by William M — 26 Oct 2013
A good mix of action, comedy, and drama. However, what makes this movie lovable is the chemistry between the characters.
Downey and Law are great together, but they fully embraced their characters, helping us get lost in their relationship. This is a movie that surely demands your attention, but it is intelligent, well written, and Guy Ritchie is felt behind the camera. Most movie goers are going to be well entertained on this reboot or a classic story.
My only gripe is that for a mystery film, the movie doesn't really give enough clues for the viewer to put the puzzle together. Luckily we can live vicariously through Holmes who, although a bit insane, is a genius detective and has a great attention to detail.
