Review of Shelter (2007) by Giffy G — 18 Aug 2008
This movie tricked me. I watched it because I was in the mood for a mindless gay/lesbian romance. However, this movie was deeper than the cover of the DVD let on. The plot covered some serious issues, and only shied away from one or two.
The romance was realistic, the characters were three dimensional and compelling, and the supporting characters weren't just window dressing for the main characters--all of which are surprisingly unique for a gay/lesbian romance.
The camera work was a little stodgy, and the child actor was lackluster, but otherwise, this was a pretty good movie.
