After seeing these extremely high RT scores by both the critics and the audience, I knew that I had to see this movie. After I saw it, however, I started to wonder why this was the movie getting all of the praise.

I mean it's not a bad film at all... In fact, it's a very well made movie, but I guess something didn't click with me that may have clicked with others. One of the main things I heard about this movie was how funny it was.

While watching the movie, I only laughed a couple times, and that was before the zombie apocalypse ensued. I feel like they didn't know what kind of movie they wanted to make: An actual zombie movie, or a funny satire? At times, it can feel like either one of those.

Another thing that never really clicked with me was that it feels like not a lot happened in the movie. I mean, obviously a zombie apocalypse happened, which is basically all you need, but the main event of the movie was our group of characters trying to make it to a pub.

That's it. They could have come up with something a little better than that. Other than those two huge problems, the rest of the movie is good. The characters are unique and memorable, and the zombie effects are fantastic.

You can obviously tell they drew inspiration from George Romero's films for the effects, and many other factors of this film. Overall, I would recommend this movie to zombie fans. Maybe it will click with you more than it did for me.
