Review of Shaun of the Dead (2004) by Jesse Z — 27 Aug 2013
After recently seeing The World's End, I figured I'd go back and remind myself of how cool Edgar Wright's other films with Simon Pegg in them were. Shaun of the Dead is seemingly the one that spawned Hot Fuzz and The World's End, and it still remains a great big fun gorefest with fantastic witty comedy brought into the mix.
The aspect of a zombie movie being not only intelligently written but also good is almost unheard of seeing how bad the genre has gotten over the years, but Shaun of the Dead rolls like a parody of 28 Days Later that is good if not better.
So honestly I can recommend this film to casual moviegoers and zombie diehards alike. Get some red on you and enjoy it.
