Review of Sharky's Machine (1981) by David S — 08 Sep 2007
Tough, no-nonsense direction by Reynolds proved promising for the actor's directorial skills... but unfortunately, he wouldn't employ them to much use after this. The performances are strong, and the action sequences are well executed, but the plot is rather undeveloped and moves at an agonizingly slow pace.
Indeed, characters are under-developed, or even inconsistent, and the plot offers no surprises whatsoever. But again, solid direction, performances, and action will make this a decent rental.
