Review of Sharkwater (2006) by Tammy M — 07 Nov 2007
A movie I would wholeheartedly ask everyone I know to watch, because it deals with an issue that I personally strongly champion -- illegal shark finning. This movie has shown the most moving footage of this activity that I've ever witnessed, and is another step toward finally educating the public about this tragic issue.
The movie has so-so production values, and the director is a tad narcissistic, but his earnestness and passion is moving. Not enough people are aware of, or sympathetic, to the destruction happening in our oceans.
I love the sea -- both in terms of eating seafood, and as a scuba diver, and we as a planet need to use the resources of the sea in a sustainable manner, or they will be lost.
