Look, it's not gonna win any awards, but it's clearly in on the joke. It's got intentionally brainless action set pieces (primarily centered around chainsaws), enough D-list performances to fill a soap opera and just the right amount of (dare I say it) clever self-awareness ("We're gonna need a bigger chopper!") to fill seats in midnight time slots for years and years to come.
