In the 19th century, during the heyday of the likes of PT Barnum, promoters would intentionally crash trains and sell tickets to legions of eager patrons. Sharknado is the 21st century equivalent. A silly, entertaining so-bad it's good movie that owes its success to a massive social media firestorm.
I wonder how well Plan 9 From Outer Space would have faired on Twitter and Facebook ? Quite well, I imagine.
