Review of Sharknado (2013) by Jon C — 03 Sep 2013
This is hands-down the antithesis of a B-movie made for the Sci-Fi channel.
It's intentions are very noticeable from the get-go yet the entertainment value reaches new heights than one would expect.
There's so much to laugh, gawk and poke fun at from the opening credits.
What makes this film different than the vast majority is that it's way more tolerable.
I actually like a handful of the characters and the ridiculous premise.
I knew exactly what I was getting into with this: bad acting, bad special effects, stock footage and so on.
A couple of things I did have a peeve about: Tara Reid isn't in the movie enough despite being listed first in the credits, the family dynamics really ruin the excitement, and the situations that the sharks are put into are non-stop ludicrous.
It's all very laughable.
The film however didn't make me cringe or groan, I had so much fun with it from start to finish.
This isn't disposable made-for-TV flare, it's a step up from it thank goodness :).
