Review of Sharknado (2013) by Kevin R — 12 Nov 2014
Don't you ever make fun of my stool again!
A failed experiments leads to an amazing scientific creation of a tornado made with flying flesh eating sharks (of all kinds). The tornado comes off the Pacific Ocean and hits Los Angeles. A group of survivors band together and try to work to stop the environmental oddity. Can the strangers stop the tornado or will they just be consumed by it?
"Why is there a retirement home next to an airport?".
"Because old people can't hear.".
Anthony Ferrante, director of Hansel & Gretel, Sharknado 2, Boo, Headless Horseman, and the upcoming Sharknado 3, delivers Sharknado. The storyline for this picture is as crappy as you'd think. The delivery is purposely bad as is the acting. The cast delivers made for TV bad performances and the cast includes Tara Reid, John Heard, Ian Ziering, and Sumiko Braun.
"There are sharks flooding the streets.".
I grabbed this off Netflix because I had heard so much about it (much like Snakes on a Plane when it came out) and I can say this is a step below that, maybe even a step below Anaconda. Overall, this is a bad horror movie with a crazy concept that is well marketed. I recommend skipping this catastrophe.
"I gotta hand it to them though; sharks, I never saw that coming.".
Grade: F.
