Review of Sharknado 2: The Second One (2014) by Kevin R — 30 Jan 2015
This storm is going to be a real ass-kicker.
Fin and April miraculously survived a Sharknado in Los Angeles (not really) and are off to New York for some relaxation time (Fin is from New York). Shortly after they arrive in New York, the weather turns cold and two shark fronts blow in. If the fronts combine, the city will be destroyed. Can Fin and April stop the storms the way they did in Los Angeles?
"If anyone is going to be playing me in the movie, it's going to be me.".
Anthony Ferrante, director of Hansel and Gretel, Sharknado, Boo, Headless Horseman, and the upcoming Sharknado 3, delivers Sharknado 2. The storyline for this picture is dreadful, maybe worse than the first film, with painful New York marketing behind every scene. The acting is awfully pathetic and the cast includes Tara Reid, Ian Ziering, Vivica Fox, Mark McGrath, and Judd Hirsch.
"It's like he knew who I was.".
I was surprised some of my friends enjoyed these bad movies and I decided to give the series a shot. The film does have some cool kill scenes and some funny lines here and there (maybe two total), but it's worse than Snakes on a Plane, if you could imagine. Why they keep making these pictures is beyond me. I wouldn't watch this.
"Only one of my legs are real.".
Grade: F.
