Review of Shark Tale (2004) by Dann M — 04 Aug 2012
Shark Tale is a fairly entertaining animated film that over parodies and underperforms. The story follows a fish named Oscar who pretends to be a shark slayer to get fame, but he winds up getting more than he bargained for when the local sharks find out.
Featuring an all-star cast that includes Will Smith, Jack Black, Renee Zellweger, Robert De Niro, and Angelina Jolie, the film has a lot of talent going for it. However, this is also a drawback since the animation tries too hard to anthropomorphize the characters.
The soundtrack is also overused and obvious. Still, there's a lot of fun and laughs to be had in Shark Tale, but it overdoes everything.
