Review of Shark Night 3D (2011) by Eric W — 20 Jan 2012
A thoroughly disappointing killer shark film, Shark Night is just a disappointment on so many levels: it's PG-13 rating means that all the excess that should attend such a film has been scaled back until all that is left is a wimpy, boring, and forgettable film about Tulane college students getting attacked by sharks who have somehow made pretty far into land.
Perhaps the film was more entertaining in 3D--I only saw if at home in regular 2D--but I doubt it. Aside from a few unbelievable moments of sharks leaping long distances out of water, there is little in the film that would have been legitimately enhanced by 3D.
In fact, the parodic music video that follows the credits and features the cast rapping about the film is way better than the film itself.
