Review of Shark Night 3D (2011) by Racyel P — 04 Feb 2012
This is one of the best movies I have EVER seen, let alone one of the best movies about sharks ever made. The characters are believable. The acting is incredible. The story is fantastic. The director knows what few directors have figured out: it's scarier if you do NOT show the "monster" until late in the movie. AND...hold on to something...NO CGI SHARKS. They actually MADE a mechanical shark (that they had multiple problems with, according to the special features on the DVD). If all movies were as good as this one, I'd never leave the house.
The above is my review of "Jaws". If I were reviewing "Shark Night", I would write this:
This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The characters are boring and stupid. The acting is horrible. The story defies believability. The director shows the shark during the opening credits...the entire opening credits, ergo taking any possible suspense out of the movie. Yes, the sharks in this film were all created on a computer (a cheap one...probably a PC). If all movies were this bad, I'd never watch another one.
2 T-boxes out of 10 (for Shark Night, not Jaws. Jaws gets an 11).
