Review of Shark Attack 3: Megalodon (2002) by Zane T — 23 May 2009
Ed Wood used to be criticized by inserting stock footage into his movie. Some people did it and got away with it, i.e. Michael Cimino in The Deer Hunter. This movie so loves its stock footage that it uses it over and over including the special effects.
It has to be seen to be believed. I can understand Conan O'Brien or Jon Stewart doing it for laughs, but this plays it for real. Other than that, there's a boring plot about some big shark terrorizing some resort and some evil businessmen out to turn the people into chum for profit.
This has been done before. The plot follows a lot of the Jaws movies, big surprise, even having the megalodon growling and gurgling, which sharks can't do because they have no vocal chords. But if you believe anything in this movie could really happen.
Worth seeing just for how bad it is and the classic line, "I'm really wired! What do you say, I take you home and eat your pussy!" Ed Wood would have been proud of dialogue that bad.
