Thank you Ana!

After a long time of wanting to see this, I finally got my hands on a copy!

The Story: A rag tag team of misfits that all know Shaolin Kung Fu, form a soccer team and go up against the most evil soccer team in the world. That's pretty much the story, simple and straight to the point. It's in the same vein as Kung Fu Hustle, which we all know I loved, and it's laugh out loud hilarious. The special effects aren't as breathtaking as Kung Fu Hustle, but they're still interesting none the less, and you'll see a lot of repeated ideas. While this film might not be as sleek and smooth as Kung Fu Hustle, it's cinematography is still outstanding, and it's jokes are still funny as hell.

The Cast: Stephen Chow... Stephen Chow is the only one that I really know from the cast. He's great here, the star of the film adding some of but not all of the comic relief that makes this film so great. Everyone else is great as well, you'll see a lot of familiar faces from Kung Fu Hustle, and a lot of similar characters as well. I watched this English voice work, the dub wasn't anything amazing and wasn't as good as the work they did with Kung Fu Hustle (tired of the comparisons yet?), but still it got the job done.

One to Five Scale: 4.

Not as shiny as Kung Fu Hustle, but it's great to step back and see what came before. The jokes are funny, the action great, and the idea of using shaolin kung fu for soccer is brilliant. It's definitely worth the price of admission.

Tyler.
