Review of Shaolin Soccer (2001) by Lee M — 18 Jul 2012
It's been a long time since I reviewed a martial arts movie so now I'm back in the game. This is my review of Shaolin Soccer. The story is about SIng who is a modern Shaolin monk and has renowned for his "leg of steel".
However, these days isn't much call for a Shaolin warrior so to promote kung-fu, a soccer coach gives him the idea of promoting it in soccer. Bringing his fellow monks who now earn by working menial jobs, the soccer field is set ready for action but the stoid-fueled footballers will be no easy task in the finals.
Stephen Chow who plays the main character Sing also co-wrote and directed this amazing movie. I enjoyed this movie thoroughly. It's true kung-fu sporty fun with fully developed characters that makes you feel what the characters are going through.
Shaolin Soccer gets a true 10/10.
