"Shaolin Soccer" is an overwhelmingly silly slapstick kung-fu film from writer/directer Stephen Chow. Chow also stars, alongside Wei Zhao.
The concept of the film is a group of kung fu experts taking on the world of soccer, and the film doesn't lift much higher than this simple concept. There's some chuckle worthy gags dotted through, and there is also some great choreography of the soccer/fight scenes, but there's nothing overwhelmingly noteworthy about this simple film.
