Review of Shame (2011) by Dakotah G — 14 Jul 2012
McQueen loves to long, static close-ups, really getting deep into a characters thoughts through the excellent performances by both Fassbender and Mulligan. I appreciate it on par with several other similarly understated, slightly ambiguous character studies from last year, like Martha Marcy Mae Marlene, Melancholia, or Another Earth.
Probably not for everyone, and definitely not one to watch with your parents.
