I finally got to see this film. It's no wonder it was NC-17....there was a bit too much hardcore sexuality in it for me, but for some reason it didn't cheapen the film, it made it more real. After all, how can you look into the life of a tortured sex addict, if you aren't basically right there while he's in his most deep moments of 'shame'.

The few bits of music that are instrumental were beautiful & it added to the intensity & seriousness of what this man was going through & luckily I can purchase them. The only parts that weren't explained enough for me is why he became the way he did, why he asked his beautiful co-worker out, but couldn't muster up the ability to go through w/sleeping w/her.

She was the only one. Did he truly like her too much? And God forbid I just stand there naked (as his sister did) if my brother were to walk in the bathroom as I was getting out of the shower! This was a good movie & I really like Steve McQueen's work as a director.

Michael Fassbender was so fearless to do such a film & even more brave to do full frontal nudity repeatedly (not just a quick shot) in an industry that overexposes the female physique, but rarely the male below the belt.

It was slightly awkward, especially watching him actually pee... but it's Hollywood!
