An exceptional and emotive look at sex addiction with a fearless and criminally overlooked, Oscar-worthy, performance from Michael Fassbender. The weight of Brandon's burden - nay, "shame" - filters into almost every frame and director Steve McQueen (not to be confused with the legendary actor) - along with co-writer Abi Morgan (the excellent Brick Lane) - offers an uncompromising and in-depth look at a disorder which is all too often excluded from psychoanalytic practice.
Outstanding film-making of the highest calibre.
