Review of Shame (2011) by Adam S — 25 Oct 2012
Wow what a movie. First let me start by saying this movie is not for everyone and it is really for adults only as the content of this film is very in your face. The movie starts off with very little dialogue but says a lot non verbally.
A movie about a man that has not got much in his life or he thinks he does not have much in his life. Really about a sex addict that basis his whole entire life about sex and everywhere he turns he only sees sex and not in the intimate way sex is supposed to be portrayed. This film depicts it in its physical animalistic way that really has an shock factor element soo if your not ready for being shocked and some harsh true realities I do not recommend this movie at all for anyone. If you do watch it be ready and I will be sure that this movie will be a one time viewing no more than once.
I am giving it four stars based on the way the story is told it does not hold back any punches and the lead actor Michael Fassbender plays his role to perfection you can really tell his torn from his family reality and his way of escaping from all his responsibilities.
Their is a scene near the end of the movie where he rushes home after trying to contact his sister and cannot get through and he gets home to find his sister in a pool of blood and im not talking about a drip drop im talking like if you have spilt red paint from a large tin. It was soo much it was not believable that the next scene you see Brandon in the hospital beside his sister in the bed recovering if I saw that much blood it would have been all over for the person, I guess Hollywood movie magic is part of it their.
Ok soo that's it for this review I would really recommend for people to give this one a miss but watch this only if you really want to.
If anyone tells you their is no such thing as sex addiction tell them to watch this flick it would do 1 of 2 things either turn them off sex completely or turn them into more of an animal ohh and 3 well I just thought of the third it could do what this movie is set out to do and make the viewer realize what type of behavior they are displaying and how it can effect the people around you.
