Review of Shame (2011) by Paul G — 16 Jan 2013
There's nothing warm and fuzzy about this film. It is a complex character study about a man addicted to sex and the difficult relationship he has with his sister. Fassbender and Mulligan are outstanding in the leads.
And McQueen once again proves his mastery of the subtle with a subject matter that could easily have been overstated. Heartbreaking, terrifying, and ultimately transcendent.
