Review of Shame (2011) by Justin B — 10 Feb 2013
Viewing the dark and lonely reality of a character who would normally be seen as a playa and played by Ryan Reynolds in some shitty romcom makes for an interesting and thought provoking character study.
However as a film it plays out like a cold, distant and overly morose adaptation of a sitcom. The performances are sublime and the film is so beautifully shot but its too grotesque and painful to watch; I don't think I'd ever a second time.
