Not only a great microscope on male sexuality but also on the still very real seedy underbelly of sex culture in NYC. Michael Fassbender is raw as fuck during this entire film. And Carey Mulligan is the best female actress you never mention to your friends.
Steve McQueen isn't interested in making comfortable movies. And after watching this and Hunger, I have to say, he nails making the viewer uncomfortable better than most directors who attempt this.
Great concept great execution. Watch it if you dare.
