Review of Shallow Grave (1994) by Sean L — 19 Sep 2008
Three fairly objectionable flatmates find a fourth person to share their flat. They find him dead in his room, with a suitcase containing a large amount of money. The three decide to keep the money, which leaves them with the problem of what to do with the money's owner.
.. The film sees the effect that this has on all of them. One nice thing about modern films is that one isn't sure whether they'll 'get away with it' which makes the film more of a thriller (but I love older films for their other qualities and this isn't a criticism of older films).
Shallow Grave is described as a black comedy - certainly very black, but not many laughs.
