Review of Shallow Grave (1994) by Itamar K — 02 Nov 2009
Starting as a black comedy, and turning abruptly into a dark - and dead serious - psychological thriller, Shallow Grave is Danny Boyle's first major feature film, and although it doesn't have Trainspotting's substance or its staying power, it's a good one, taking a modern and sarcastic angle on classic Hitchcockian themes.
Enjoyable and disturbing.
