Review of Shakespeare in Love (1998) by Hannah D — 15 Nov 2009

Aside from the fact that I didn't laugh once, I did quite enjoy this. Having read a little about Shakespeare's plays, I understood all about women not being allowed to act on stage. I think you need some appreciation of his plays to understand the film.

Some of the dialogue was hard to understand, but it managed to keep my attention until the end. I can see why it has won awards, but it's not one of my favourites.
