Yes. it's a romantic comedy. It is one of the most entertaining well done romantic comedies ever. If you feel that it lacks in depth, or is not worthy of the hype...remind yourself that it is a romantic comedy.
it is known for being a REALLY good romantic comedy and it is worthy of the hype as that type of movie. If you don't like the genre, then you probably won't appreciate this no matter how wonderful it is.
