Review of Shahid (2013) by Ojas V — 15 Nov 2015
An interesting film, which shows how an earnest pursuit of justice can become confused with an excuse to escape justice. This story follows a young muslim man who suffers injustice from rioters in Mumbai india. He escapes from a terrorist training camp, and instead pursues a law degree in order to fight the injustice of the Indian legal system. He decides to focus his practice on defending those accused of terrorism.
This film was good because it allows the viewer to come to their own conclusion regard the morality of his behavior. Although some moments drag the film down into melodrama, I appreciated the distance the film maker provided so that one could form their own conclusions.
