Review of Shadows and Fog (1991) by Benjamin F — 07 Jan 2008
While not without its flaws, definitely one of Woody Allen's better films. Great casting, as usual, and he and Mia Farrow had wonderful chemistry, as you'd expect considering their relationship in real life.
Sharp, funny writing and a brilliantly conceived and realized setting. Its lack of a "real" ending, per se, is forgivable, in that it still works in the spirit of the rest of the film. Quite an enjoyable cinematic ride while it lasts.
