Review of Shadow of the Vampire (2000) by Nicole P — 20 Sep 2007
What a classic! It's downright CREEPY. Dafoe plays Nosferatu in the making of the first ever vampire flick. Premise being that the director managed to get such memorable performances by getting a "method actor" (a real vampire played by Dafoe) to play the part of Nasferatu (sp?) downright creepy without being horrific for the most part but it's lack of special effects almost make it even more believable on a simplistic level.
The landscape cinematography is fantastic too. John Malkovic as the director is loathesome.
