Review of Shadow of the Vampire (2000) by Tom C — 18 Jul 2010
A beautifully dark little movie, providing an interesting story behind Murnau's classic (which I hereby admit to having not seen!) with chills and laughs in equal proportion. I thoroughly enjoyed the way that the actors acting - while sufficiently good - came nowhere near to matching the Gothic grandeur of Dafoe's performance, and therefore supporting the film's idea that Max Schreck really was a creature of the night.
